Who Are We? |
Magic Moth Films is a project setup by Cornish filmaker, James Hutchings. James studied Media Technology at Oxford Brookes University from 2002 to 2006, only to return to the Southwest after finishing his degree. Armed with his trusty Panasonic DVX100, he now shoots digital video for a variety of media. |
| How Did It All Begin? |
He had always been keenly into watching films from an early age and it wasn't until he bought his first digital camcorder in 2001 that he started to have a go himself. The first resulting effort was a family affair, casting local villagers, friends & family members in the now cult favourite 'Legend of the Cornish Beast'. To this day, that film still gets shown at every Christmas to the delight of the family. This is where the magic begins. |
| What We Do? |
Seven years on and James is still making short films with his family & friends, as well as more professional films with actors he sources locally. He also shoots music videos for local bands and promotional videos for local companies. James has also started to take on clients needing webdesign. |
| What We Hope To Achieve? |
In the near future, James hopes to go into post-grad education to continue studying film & media on a more professional level, so that one day he can break into the industry and make a living on what he loves to do best; create. |
